Himalayan Whitehouse College of Law hosted a week-long academic event titled “Law Next – 7 Days of Learning and Debate” from 8th to 14th Asadh, 2082. The program took place at the college premises and focused on law, public speaking, and parliamentary practices. It brought together legal professionals, scholars, students, and trainers for a dynamic learning experience.
Each day featured something new. From inspiring keynote talks and experience-sharing sessions to debate training and mock parliamentary exercises, the event blended theory with practical exposure. Participants explored topics such as the value of studying law, basics of oration and debate, and Nepal’s legal system.
The event began with an inaugural speech by Principal Ms. Anushka Bhattarai. She emphasized the importance of real-world learning. Experts like Ishan Raj Onta, Shishir Lamichhane, Janak Pokhrel, Diksha Kandel, and Lazzu Shrestha led various sessions. They shared personal experiences and offered valuable insights into the legal and political landscape.
One of the key highlights was the Mock Parliament Training. Students learned about legislative processes, rules of procedure, and policy discussions. The event ended with a two-day Mock Parliament, where participants applied their skills in a simulated setting.
Throughout the week, students engaged actively in every session. They asked questions, joined debates, and learned from professionals across different legal fields.
The college extends sincere thanks to everyone who made “Law Next” a success. The event reflected HWCL’s commitment to hands-on, student-centered legal education.
